The State of Michigan has enacted legislation to enable the expansion of solar and wind farms. There are very few restrictions at the state level. The two proposed ordinances are preemptive measures to ensure that Blue Lake Township has safeguards in the event that a wind or solar farm is proposed to be built within the township.
